and the New Client Special
Olandra really listens! As a licensed clinical social worker, I'm fine-tuned to that skill. Then she focuses on what you've requested. She also gently integrates something more--typically just what's needed. She's "in flow" with this gift of hers, and you should definitely partake.

Modalities
Each session is an integrative experience of any or all of the modalities I’m trained in, moving between body, mind, spirit, and emotions.
Swedish
Relaxing and good for circulation, Swedish massage uses five basic strokes to increase health and well being.
Deep Tissue
This modality uses a series of strokes and specialized attention to deeper muscles that may be causing structural imbalance in the body. By elongating certain muscles and relieving connective tissues, chronic pain and holding patterns can find relief.
Acupressure
By accessing certain dime-sized areas of the body, acupressure helps increase chi flow (vital energy) throughout the body and bring presence and ease into energy flows (meridians) that may not be in full balance.
CranioSacral Therapy
Uses a light touch to help unwind and balance connective tissues and the central nervous system. Focus is given to the membranes and cerebral spinal fluid that surround the brain and spinal cord.
Visceral Manipulation
By using relatively light manual techniques, visceral manipulation allows for renewed mobility and motility (inherent movement and vitality) of the organs which can improve functionality, movement, associated musculoskeletal issues, and holistic harmony.
Cupping
Using the negative pressure of silicone suction cups, blood and lymph flow is encouraged and muscle tissues are manipulated. Toxins and remnants of old injuries are drawn to the surface sometimes leaving a red or purple mark on the skin. I always ask permission before doing anything that could leave a mark.
Myofascial Release
By using gentle and extremely slow strokes, this modality helps open up the myofascial connective tissue that may be pulling the body out of alignment.
Trigger Point
By focusing in on “knots” and small areas of intense holding, these strokes help provide long term pain relief from chronic problems.
Northern Style Thai
By incorporating yoga-like positions with massage and compression, stretching is emphasized as energy flows are also released. The client is traditionally on the floor on a mat with their clothes on. I sometimes incorporate stretches on the table as well.
Nerve Touch
By twanging muscles and tendons this modality helps bring vitality back into tired, overused, or tight muscles. It may be compared to strumming a guitar string that sends vibrations along its whole structure.
Chakras
These are energy systems in the body that correlate to certain body parts and emotions. By bringing awareness and presence to them one may feel deeper self-awareness and physical/emotional/mind/spirit balancing.
Reiki
This ancient modality uses the channeling of healing energy and intuition to bring presence and care to the client. Deep energetic transformations may be experienced or a deep feeling of comfort.
Hot Towels
Used to increase blood flow and relax muscles and connective tissue.
Aromatherapy
I use diverse essential oils, choosing what feels right for your individual needs. These pure plant extracts have such properties as relaxing, calming, cooling, warming, invigorating, clarifying, detoxifying, anti-inflaming, and an endless list of others. Not to mention, they smell oh-so-very-amazing!
Meditation
I will sometimes offer exercises to calm and concentrate the mind, release or observe emotions, or integrate the breath.
